First Night at the house by myself

So, Andy left for Chicago yesterday morning for work with Mr. Bill and Bart. I haven't had to stay at our house by myself yet so I was definitely nervous and a little scared!! Mrs. Nancy eased my nerves though by having Joanna, Georgia and I over for pizza and a Girl's Night. After some sweep the kitchen, glass of wine and a movie..I was ready to face the first night by myself. Everything went fine, I slept like a baby and now I know I don't need to be scared when Andy goes out of town! This work week has flown by and I am thankful for that. Brainstorming for Father's Day gifts and trying to get some last-minute house stuff finished before we host small group next Tuesday. Andy will be home tomorrow..woo hoo! We don't have big weekend plans, so it will be good to just relax!

The weekends always go by too fast!

This weekend was fun, but as always, it went by way too fast! Friday night, we watched Georgia while Joanna & Bart went on a date :). She was hilarious and so much fun! She is growing up  so fast, it's hard to believe she'll be 3 in July. Proud Uncle Andy taught Georgia to "twirk it" and she went to up to Joanna the next morning and said "Mama twirk it", she loves that phrase...hysterical! Saturday, Andy & I went on our longest and hardest run but it was good. Then, my mom, sister, grandmother, aunt and cousin came over for lunch at Sun Down, an outing to Mitchum's and to get a tour of the house. It was great to see all of them and I wish we had more time together! That afternoon, Natolie and I hit up the pool and got some much-needed sun and sister time. Our Sunday morning was taken up with some much needed yard work, then Andy went to play golf and I went back to the pool. Some days you just need a good 2 hours by yourself soaking up some sun. Sunday night, we watched the Heat-Mavs game with our friends Ross, Paige, Jason and Paige. We had a great time and laughed A LOT!!

Andy leaves for Chicago Wed-Fri. Sad for him to leave and hope I don't get scared staying by myself!!! We'll see how that goes...

Memorial Day weekend!

We had a great weekend of relaxation! We helped our friends Meg & Bryan move into their new house, which is fabulous, spent some time at the lake and at home, slept in, ran and cooked lots of yummy food with family and friends! We are "training" for the Peach Fest 5k which is 3 weeks away, so as Andy says "it's game time"! It's been good to get back into the running routine and I think this will be something fun for us to do together! Busy week this week..Joanna finds out the sex of the baby tomorrow, Charlie (my little brother) turns 15 tomorrow and we have Emily Husted & Wesley Martin's engagement party Saturday night. I'm hoping this week flies by!!

Life is back to normal

After a long week of emotional stress wondering whether we would keep the puppy or sell him, it is finally over and I must say that I am relieved. We gave Heisman to a family in Madison yesterday. The daughter is actually my sister's Big Sis in DG and her mom has been wanting a puppy. He will be treated like a king and spoiled rotten and he will have constant attention, instead of being a lone for most of the day. There's a picture that they sent me last night, I think he'll be just fine in his new home :).

Having a puppy definitely made Andy and I realize that it takes up pretty much all of your attention and our focus was totally on him over the past 2 weeks. I must admit, it did put more stress on our marriage and I'm glad that we are back to us for now. Obviously we miss him terribly but, having only been married for a month and a half, we've decided we want to enjoy being newlyweds and focusing on each other. We will wait to get another dog when we move into a bigger home with a big yard so it can be an inside/outside dog. In the mean time, we are happy to be the focus of each other's attention again and enjoy this precious time where it is just us!

The Cutest Puppy In The World

So, Andy and I bought the cutest King Charles Cavalier puppy this past weekend, he is PRECIOUS! He is 6 1/2 weeks old and weighs 3.7 lbs. We are so in love with him but there is one problem..I woke up Monday morning with severe allergies. I think that I'm allergic to him and it is so sad! Things got better yesterday and last night I was fine, but when I woke up this morning I woke up with the runny nose, itchy throat, etc. Andy & I have gone back & forth so many times and part of me wants to keep him and deal with it on a daily basis but another part of us knows that if it gets worse, it will only be harder to give him away since we are already so attached. He is such a smart, cute and calm dog. He is already getting the hang of going potty outside and he is doing better every day!
Andy's cousin Maggie is interested in buying him from us so she is going to "take him out on approval" for the next 2 days before she makes her decision. We shall see..we would love to be able to keep him in the family, but we also want her to be totally comfortable with him and this is a spur-of-the-moment decision.
Anyway, if you know of anyone else that would be interested in buying this cutie, please let us know. These past 2 days have been so sad for us, we are so heartbroken and torn and the more time we spend with him the harder it gets for us to let him go :(.

House Renovations

Here are a few pictures of the newly updated house! For those of you who did not see the house before, the living room was red with carpet and Andy's bathroom was red. We replaced the carpet in the living room and the hallway, painted the living room and master bathroom, planted new flowers in the flower beds and just did a lot of cleaning out and adjusting! Enjoy the pics!

Celebrating Birthdays & Mothers

First of all, let me just say that I finished the book Something Borrowed in 2 days and I am OBSESSED, I've already started on the sequel! Thank you Joanna for getting me hooked!

This weekend was fun! We kicked it off with a little afternoon golf on Friday afternoon, just Andy and I. We had a great time and it was an absolutely gorgeous day out at Squire. On Saturday, we celebrated Andy's grandfather's 90th birthday on Saturday in Winnsboro. That man is hysterical, I feel so blessed to have gotten to know him over the past year and so glad that he is still around to keep us laughing, here's to another 10 years Grand :). Sunday we went to church and lunch with my mom and had dinner with Andy's family. We are so lucky to have such wonderful mothers in our lives, so grateful and thankful for them.♥

We have a crazy week ahead of us filled with brother's baseball games, an Ole Miss alum dinner with Houston Nutt, birthday dinner with friends, movie date with my Joanna and Mrs. Nancy and Bunco! Lots of fun things and already looking forward to the weekend!
